Bolshevist (or Bolshevik) Russia, or Soviet Russia ((ロシア語:Советская Россия)) were terms used to informally refer to the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic–the successor state of the Russian Republic–which was established on , though it would not be officially renamed until the adoption of the 1918 Russian constitution on 25 July 1918. The entity was governed by the Bolshevik Party. In the contemporary official documents issued by the Bolshevik government the state was variously called "Russia", "Russian Republic", "Russian Federative Republic", "Soviet Republic or Russia", "Soviet Workers and Peasants Republic", "Workers and Peasants Republic of the Soviets", etc. *Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic *Soviet Union, following a popular misidentification of the Soviet Union as "Russia".
